Thanksgiving Point

We have visited Utah for many years and have never been to see the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. We went to visit my sister and her family for a few of the days over Spring Break and decided to make this one of our outings.

We had a quick morning snack at the snack bar before heading into the museum.

One of the favorites of the kids was this area where they could move sand around in the water, causing it to run in different paths.

Nathan and Danny created a flash flood that washed away all of the trees and dinosaurs downstream.

Another favorite was the Archeology Dig. The kids enjoyed using brushes to uncover dinosaur remains.

We were sad that Madison was at school and had to miss out! From now on when we visit Utah, this should be something we do often!

Court of Dreams-Take Two

When you have two boys playing club ball it means a couple of things: 1) That you will spend a whole bunch of time in the car driving to and from practices and 2) That you get to go to several events twice--like the Court of Dreams. It's all good though. I love watching them both play!

These older boys didn't need as much fan fare as the younger group, but I think Nathan still enjoyed the experience of playing in this big arena. Here you can see him in the Black and Light Blue Jersey, going for the rebound.

Awesome Shot Number Eight!

Jump

Danny worked hard to make it onto the Eagle Elementary Speed Jump Team. He competed in the Fourth Grade Boys Forward Jump Division. All of the people on the chairs had counters, keeping track of Danny's every step.

We think that his sweet Fluorescent Green Shoes must have given him quite an advantage.

Danny won Fifth Place in his division over all the schools competing that day. His winning jump? 108 jumps in one minute. Now that is fast! Great job Danny!

Day Trip

At the beginning of March we were all tired of the gloomy, cold weather keeping us cooped up in the house. One Saturday we planned a Day Trip out to Twin Falls.

Our first stop was next to the bridge that spans the canyon as you come into town. The kids were impressed with the plaque of Evil Knievel. Could he really have jumped this canyon with a motorcycle? Crazy!!

Our next stop was Shoshone Falls. I had read that it had been running full force for most of the winter, which is unusual, I guess. It was bitter cold! I love this pic of the boys in their hoodies.

It was refreshing to get out of the house and to scope out some places we'd like to visit again this summer. Before we headed home we had a nice lunch at a Buffet Pizza joint. Thanks Twin Falls! See you again soon.

Derby

This year Danny and Mike worked on his Pinewood Derby Car. Mike has become somewhat of an expert. Danny liked the idea of a Domino Design. Both he and Mike collaborated on which domino number it should be and what color: The number 3 and then 2... for Jimmer Fredette and in the color blue. As you can see, he won the award for Best Craftsmanship.

Incidentally, Danny's new little cousin Lanie was born on the same day. All of it quite a cause for celebration!
