Sunriver

On Thursday afternoon we headed over to central Oregon to meet up with my parents. They were going to be in Sunriver, a beautiful mountain resort. After a six hour drive on a tiny little highway we arrived and really enjoyed taking in all of the fresh air and scenery.

The weather was fairly temperate when we arrived so the first couple of days the kids played in the common area together. Some of us also played tennis. This is a picture of the kids at the High Desert Museum. It was a really neat place with interactive exhibits and also many areas that had animals native to the area.

The townhouse we stayed in was plenty big for all of us. It had a warm fireplace and comfortable beds. While the weather was tolerable we enjoyed the community swimming pool and the hot tub. This is a picture of Ryan doing his cannon ball. I was pretty impressed with his form! I think my dad is yelling something like: "Cannon BAAAALLL!"

The pool was like bath water and the boys had fun practicing the swimming skills that they worked on this summer.

This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning. The kids were thrilled and didn't even bother to get dressed before they headed out.

Once the weather turned we spent more time doing inside, cozy things by the fire place. Hot chocolate, movies, board games and General Conference were all part of the fun. Here the older boys are showing my dad one of their most favorite youtube videos and the remix that goes with it. (pretty funny)

My mom cuddled Lydia and watched Princess Sing-Along while Mike and I took the older boys for a dip in the hot tub. It was cool to look around and see all of the snow. All of the boys gladly took Mike's dare to make snow angels and then jump back in the water.

Thanks so much to my mom and dad for letting us hang out with them this weekend. It was a wonderful getaway.
